Dean of Student Support Services

Wesley Morris graduated from Taft Union High School in 1995, went to Taft College and then graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science from UCLA. Immediately after UCLA he started substitute teaching and coaching JV girls soccer at Taft High in 1999. He moved from the Kern High School District in 2010 to teach history at TUHS until he became the Dean in 2023. Wesley is married to TUHS English/drama teacher Mrs. Morris and they have two children.

Mr. Morris would like the students of TUHS to know that his job is to help them stay focused on their role as students. This does not always involve matters of discipline, but also incorporates many of the other student supports we offer at TUHS. He is also the Interact Club (the youth branch of Rotary International) advisor and enjoys working with students to develop a sense of the club motto, "Service Above Self." He also serves the parents of the community in assisting their students be the best learner and citizen they can be. If you have any needs, questions, comments, or concerns, please reach out to him so he can partner with you in supporting your student.
