Principal's Message
Principal's Message
TUHS Principal, Mary Alice Finn, is a 1998 graduate of Taft Union High School and a proud third-generation Wildcat. She earned her B.A. in Social Science from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego in 2002 and completed her teaching credential through PLNU shortly after.
She began her career at Arvin High School in 2003, beginning by teaching both History and Special Education. She spent the majority of her teaching career teaching World History in a California Partnership Academy, Construction Design Academy. In 2004, she became Activities Director, a position she held for nine years while continuing to teach. She earned her Master’s in Education and Administrative Credential in 2007 and later served as Dean of Students at Arvin High School from 2013 to 2015.
Mrs. Finn joined TUHSD in 2015 as Assistant Principal at TUHS. Beginning in 2016 she was named Principal, a role she still holds proudly. She is married to Brian, and together they have two daughters. She enjoys traveling, is an avid reader, and enjoys golfing—but most of all, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

At TUHS, we take great pride in the lasting relationships and traditions that define us, while embracing the innovation and continuous growth that keep our learning vibrant and relevant. Our focus is clear: we strive to provide classrooms where students are deeply engaged in their learning, where instructional clarity ensures that every learner understands their goals and how to reach them, and where data-informed supports guide us in meeting each student’s unique needs.
We believe students learn best in environments that spark curiosity and foster confidence. Through engaging instruction, clear learning expectations, and timely, systematic interventions, we ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive—academically, socially, and personally.
As we continue to build on our rich history of pride and accomplishment, we remain dedicated to preparing students not only for success beyond high school but also for meaningful contributions to our community and the wider world.
Thank you for visiting our website and for being part of our Wildcat family. Together, we will honor our traditions while inspiring the next generation of learners and leaders.
